What is TestAS ?
The Test for Academic Studies (TestAS) is a standardized scholastic aptitude test specifically designed for international students aspiring to pursue undergraduate studies at German universities. This exam is conducted by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in different countries & centers 3 to 4 times a year.
TestAS evaluates cognitive abilities that are crucial for university-level education. Unlike tests that assess subject-specific knowledge, TestAS focuses on general academic skills, ensuring a fair assessment for all candidates regardless of their educational background.

What is the difference between Paper based and Digital Exam (TestAS) ?
The Digital and Paper-based TestAS share a similar structure, both comprising a Core Test/Module and a Subject Module. However, the formats differ in important ways. The Digital TestAS is designed specifically for computer administration and features distinct task types compared to the Paper-based version, which uses pen and paper. Despite these differences, both versions assess the same abilities, and their results are comparable. Another key distinction is test duration. The Paper-based TestAS takes approximately 4-5 hours, including a 30-minute break, while the Digital TestAS is shorter, lasting about 3 hours. Furthermore, the Digital TestAS offers a choice of six fields of study for the subject module, whereas the Paper-based version provides four options.
